Rodrygo Goes shows his flashes of brilliance

Whether it was his tremendous debut goal against Osasuna or his perfect hat-trick at Galatasaray, Rodrygo Goes quickly showed in his first few months at Real Madrid from Santos that he has the potential to become a true superstar player at the Santiago Bernabeu

Rodrygo hasn’t had too many chances to start in 2020-2021, but that should change. The man now has five assists in all competitions after drawing the start at left winger with Vinicius Junior out due to gastroenteritis.

He seized the opportunity immediately with an assist for Karim Benzema after a mere five minutes. His pass was gorgeous and one that Toni Kroos, who had a big game in his own right, would have been proud of.

Should Rodrygo have finished the clear-cut chance Kroos provided him in the second half? Yes. Rodrygo’s performance was not perfect by any means, but it was very good, especially in the first 45 minutes.

The Brazilian finished the match with three dribbles completed to go with his assist. More starts at left winger should be on the horizon if Eden Hazard were to miss more games, as this is his preferred position. He can play on the right, yes, but I think most Madridistas would love to see him get more chances to shine at the position that could one day be his to rule.
