Real Madrid receives a major boost in their bid to sign Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain next summer as Bayern Munich back out from the race.

Since Kylian Mbappe had reportedly asked Paris Saint-Germain to let him leave the club next summer, all indicators have been pointed towards a move to Real Madrid. However, there are several other clubs interested in signing the French forward including Liverpool, Barcelona, Manchester United, and so on.

PSG themselves are hoping to keep Mbappe at the club and even plan on extending his contract further. Mbappe is on contract with the Paris based outfit until the summer of 2022, however, the 2019/20 Ligue 1 champions are currently working on a lucrative contract renewal offer.

The situation could possibly change if the 22-year-old considers leaving next summer then Paris Saint-Germain would have no other option but to cash in on him rather than keeping the forward and losing him on a free transfer in 2022.

Having said that, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Real Madrid are currently the forerunners for Mbappe’s signature. A report from OK DIARO now confirms that the European champions have pulled out from the race thus leaving Liverpool and Real Madrid to compete against each other.

"I love Mbappé and his way of playing, but we will never get him to come to Bayern. Either way, it ‘s fine where it is. Bayern Munich CEO on the plausible signing of Kylian Mbappe."

Real Madrid certainly has the upper hand over Liverpool in the bid to sign Mbappe. Financially, the FSG group has a strict policy when it comes to signing top marque players. The Reds only make lucrative signings after selling a certain number of players to raise funds. For example, Jurgen Klopp was permitted to make four major signings after the massive sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.

Apart from the financial upper hand that Real Madrid have over Liverpool. Los Blancos also have the upper hand in terms of emotional attachment. Kylian Mbappe has been a life-long fan of Merengues and he even idolised Cristiano Ronaldo throughout his childhood. Having said that, Zinedine Zidane also shares a close relationship with Mbappe and his parents. Could this possibly mean that Real Madrid are the frontrunners to land Kylian Mbappe next summer?
