Real Madrid are linked with several targets for the summer, including a few players personally requested for by Zinedine Zidane.

Real Madrid claimed another 3-1 win, this time against Eibar, and Luka Modric once again made the headlines with a fine display. Federico Valverde was also good after coming on, which means there is little room for another regular fixture in the midfield. However, Paul Pogba continues to be linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has opened up about the prospect of his client departing Manchester United after stating that his career at the Old Trafford is over. Besides the Merengues, Juventus continue to show interest in his services. Earlier it had been suggested that Isco could be swapped for Pogba, but the rumours have now been quashed.

Zinedine Zidane, who had supposedly requested for Pogba personally, dismissed any talk of the Frenchman joining the Bernabeu and less so in a swap deal involving the Spaniard, speaking to the press prior to the Eibar game. The manager insisted that he remains happy with the squad at his disposal and remained coy on the club’s transfers.

By the looks of it, Zidane will be given less control over the transfers going forward because of the decisions he has made. The likes of Brahim Diaz and James Rodriguez, who were supposedly underperforming or out of his plans are now showing their true colours at other clubs, which has surely raised doubts over his judgement, and rightly so, of late.

Los Blancos are prioritizing more on a younger revolution and if a midfielder does arrive, it will be Eduardo Camavinga or somebody of similar profile. In addition to that, the club will prioritize on players it has targeted since a couple of months, which include Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, besides a central defender in all likelihood, in 2021.
