RW Lucas Vazquez

Lucas Vazquez has hit the post so many times this season, but he finally snagged his first league goal of 2020-2021 when he sealed the deal at the Ipurua this Sunday against Eibar.

There is no doubt that Vazquez has locked up the starting right wing position, as Marco Asensio’s appearance off the bench at Eibar did not blow anyone away. Meanwhile, Vazquez has silenced the critics with his excellence during the winning streak, putting in a whole lot of work on both ends of the pitch for this team.

According to WhoScored.com, only Toni Kroos and Luka Modric are averaging more key passes per game than Vazquez in league play. Expect him to cause all sorts of problems offensively for Granada, who surely know that his crossing has been pinpoint of late.

LW Rodrygo Goes

One of the biggest storylines this Wednesday for Real Madrid will be the left wing position. Whereas the right side is in no doubt due to Vazquez’s superiority to Asensio this season, the left wing position is up for grabs.

If Eden Hazard is healthy, he starts, but he may not be 100 percent ready. Zinedine Zidane and the club will exceed an abundant amount of caution with the Belgian superstar.

So then the question becomes, Vinicius Junior or Rodrgyo Goes? Both men are capable. Vinicius played well against Athletic Club, but he was unable to start at Eibar due to an illness. So Rodrygo started and had an amazing first half, setting up Karim Benzema after five minutes with a delightful assist.

If it comes down to it, I think Rodrygo draws the start and makes another statement in this one.
