Sevilla CB Jules Kounde

Sevilla star Jules Kounde is the team’s most valuable transfer commodity, and the club knows it. Kounde was linked to Manchester City, but unlike Valencia with Ferran Torres, Sevilla wouldn’t be the latest La Liga club to give Pep Guardiola a serious discount on a future superstar.

Kounde has picked up where he left off after his breakout 2019-2020 campaign. The center back has scored one goal apiece in the Champions League and La Liga. He is an excellent ball-playing center back who rarely makes mistakes, as evidenced by his pass completion percentage of 91.1 percent in league play, per WhoScored.com.

Earlier this year, Kounde made a name for himself in the knockout stages of the Europa League with his shutdown defending, outshining another big name at the position in Diego Carlos. Just 22 years old, Kounde is wise beyond his years and could be ready to make an immediate impact at Real Madrid. As impressive as Eder Militao has been, Kounde is an even more polished player.

Kounde would cost a great deal of money, since everyone knows how good he is and initially signed the player for 25 million euros from Bordeaux. But Kounde’s high football IQ, passing accuracy, and future potential are reasons why he would be worth the price. The question is whether or not Real Madrid can afford to pay up, as Sevilla would also probably prefer to sell him to another league.
