Rennes CM Eduardo Camavinga

We begin with the best possible signing for Real Madrid, Eduardo Camavinga. The Rennes midfielder has been on Real’s radar since the Fall of 2019 when he first burst onto the scene with an incredible performance against PSG as a 16-year-old. Since then, Camavinga has proven that his display against the powerhouse of Ligue 1 was no fluke, and he’s also being followed by clubs like PSG.

Real Madrid will have competition for Camavinga, but we have every reason to believe that Los Blancos are the favorites to sign the teenage sensation. Yes, Jonathan Barnett of Gareth Bale infamy is his agent, but Barnett simply does what is best for his clients and the bottom line. And at this point, it’s hard to see there being a better option for Camavinga than Los Blancos, barring a massive push from the financially-stacked Parisians.

Camavinga has actually been quieter in 2020-2021, but he remains effective for Rennes. According to WhoScored.com, he is completing 91 percent of his passes in the Champions League with 2.8 dribbles completed and 1.8 key passes per game. He’s also averaging three tackles and interceptions combined per match.

It often seems like Camavinga elevates his performances against the best teams, which would bode well for his future at Real Madrid. Although he’s good enough to start some games for Real, the club would have the ability to ease him along and only start him in certain spots. That way, his confidence will be high and he will not have to be exposed to criticism in the face of the high expectations that come up with suiting up for Los Merengues.
