Real Madrid should be refreshed and ready to pick up a seventh straight victory after a week of rest before Elche.

This past Wednesday, Real Madrid made it six wins on the trot, shutting out Granada in a difficult 2-0 win at home. Next Wednesday, Los Blancos will travel to Elche to face the mid-table La Liga side, and they will likewise fully expect all three points.

Eden Hazard was healthy enough to play against Granada, but Zinedine Zidane ultimately decided to hold him out of such a difficult contest. Marco Asensio entered the pitch for the injured Rodrygo Goes and provided his first goal contribution of 2020-2021 in the victory.

According to a report from Defensa Central’s Manuel Calero, Hazard, Martin Odegaard, and Luka Modric will all be ready to play for Real Madrid at Elche.

Odegaard has been available to play since returning from his own injury, but the 22-year-old has not played since the losses to Deportivo Alaves and Shakhtar Donetsk. Zidane has leaned on the old guard during this winning streak, so there has been little space for Odegaard, though he was at no fault for those losses.

Luka Modric, Eden Hazard can help lead Real Madrid to another victory

Finally, Modric needed rest against Granada after coming off the pitch against Eibar following another marvelous performance. Modric has been counted on more than any other player this season, and while Real won vs. Granada, Modric was clearly missed.

He’s not injured but was dealing with an overloaded muscle. It’s great to hear that the Croatian midfielder is ready to play this coming Wednesday at Elche, because Madridistas will be awaiting another masterclass.

Elche are a smaller side, but no team in La Liga is to be underestimated. All three of these players, but especially Hazard and Modric, could have a big say on a Real Madrid victory on Matchday 16.
