LW Eden Hazard
Switching back to the forward positions, Eden Hazard is a player to watch closely this Wednesday, because he will most likely make his return from yet another injury. Madridistas have understandably grown wary of trusting in Hazard’s health, even as they understand the Belgian superstar is THE key to this team reaching its fullest potential in the Champions League.
Hazard doesn’t have to be class against Elche, nor should he be expected to find the scoresheet or assist in what will probably amount to a 30-minute, tune-up. But Madridistas will hope for a positive, healthy return to the pitch for Hazard.
AM Martin Odegaard
Martin Odegaard has been fit to play over the past couple of games, but Zinedine Zidane just hasn’t found the right time to reintroduce the Norwegian midfielder to the lineup. The 2019-2020 breakout star in La Liga, Odegaard took the league by storm while on loan at Real Sociedad with his creativity and technical class. We know he can be the next big star in Madrid.
This season, Odegaard does not have to be a star, but Madridistas want to see the youngster become a bigger part of the squad and an X-Factor down the stretch of the regular season. Assuming Isco makes his way to the Premier League this winter, Odegaard’s importance to Real Madrid could increase. It would be nice to see him on the pitch at Elche and playing well. He’s looked good this season when on the pitch, and now it’s time to start tracking the continued improvements from “Ø”.
