Real Madrid left winger Vinicius Junior has been mentioned in loan rumors prior to the January transfer window, but don’t expect anything to happen.

Vinicius Junior is similar to any young player, with the exception that he happens to play for Real Madrid, where every single minute of a player’s performance is scrutinized. Therefore, the usual ups and downs any young player goes through are seen in a more negative light at times, but that’s simply because of the added pressure to perform at a club that expects to win trophies every single year.

The 20-year-old has had a bright start to his career at the Santiago Bernabeu, flashing world-class potential at times, including early this season when he was on a streak of goals. Vinicius shined on the bright stages, too, such as against Atletico Madrid and Barcelona last season.

Recently, he had a rough patch of form, and fans have been wondering if, maybe, Vinicius needs to regularly start and have more of a chance to fail, to speak, at a smaller club on loan.

According to a report from Bernabeu Digital, Vinicius Junior is not interested in leaving Real Madrid on loan this winter. He wants to finish the 2020-2021 season with the club and show Zinedine Zidane why he should be a regular part of his team.

I don’t think he has to convince Zidane of much, because Zidane stood by him amidst that rough patch. Vini rewarded him with a good match in the 3-1 win over Athletic Club, though he was unable to follow up on that performance due to a bout of gastroenteritis.

With Rodrygo Goes injured, loaning Vinicius Junior is basically non-negotiable. It can’t happen. If Eden Hazard were to get injured again and Vini were loaned, Marco Asensio would be the main option on the left. And really, the only option, with the possible exception of going to two strikers or playing Marcelo in the attack.

Vinicius is necessary down the stretch of the season. Nevertheless, it’s great to hear more indications of the young player’s resiliency and desire to continue to prove himself to his manager and to Madridistas as a whole. He can be a special player for this club.
