Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is making ambitious plans for the summer transfer window, which includes a sensational signing from England.

Real Madrid are expected to have a busy 2021 as far as the transfer window is concerned. Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Sergio Ramos- some of the club’s most experienced players- are ageing and need to be replaced. However, the foremost task at hand for Florentino Perez is the signing of a goal-scorer to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are the two players which are on the club’s radar. However, both forwards are expensive and proving difficult propositions in one way or another. While Haaland has no shortage of suitors, Mbappe could be incredibly expensive which may force Los Merengues to hang on until 2022 before they can sign him.

Zinedine Zidane is now looking at potential alternatives and has identified Tottenham Hotspur superstar Heung-min Son as someone he would like on his roster. The interest from the Frenchman is only in its initial stages, but it is expected that Real Madrid officials will soon meet with the player’s entourage in a while, Ekrem Konur reports.

Son has been incredibly good in the Premier League this season and is arguably the best player across the English top-flight. In 15 appearances under his belt, the South Korean midfielder has struck 11 times and assisted four this campaign. Spurs are on track to win a piece of silverware this year under Jose Mourinho and Son has been the go-to man.

Mourinho has surely transformed the north Londoners into a force to reckon, but if they fail to win a trophy this season, the club may face an exodus of several crucial players who may be on their way out to pursue collective success. Son, who is 28, is in the prime of his career and would want to do everything possible to spend those years on a high.

Tottenham are likely to demand in excess of 100 million euros for a player of his calibre, which may distance Real Madrid from the winger. As such, Son is not as potent a source of goals as some of their other targets, plus, with a price that Spurs may quote, the Spanish giants will comfortably be affording Haaland or even Mbappe with a slight stretch.
