Real Madrid defeated Celta Vigo 2-0 at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano and remain unbeaten since the loss to Shakhtar Donetsk.

On Wednesday night, Madridistas were disappointed when Real Madrid dropped points to Elche, drawing 1-1 on the road. But they bounced back on Saturday night at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, shutting out Iago Aspas, Nolito, and Santi Mina en route to a 2-0 victory.

Here are five burning questions for Los Blancos following another impressive win.

Is there anyone in La Liga better than Luka Modric?

Iago Aspas leads the league in goal contributions, though he was unable to add to his tally on Matchday 17 and left the game injured. He would probably be the strongest competitor to Luka Modric in the Player of the Season race, but in terms of individual quality, how can you deny that the Croatian is the league’s best?

Modric did not score or assist in this game, but he did create the first goal with his genius interception. That was the single most important play in the build to the goal, even moreso than the assist or the finish itself.

The man impacts a match in so many ways, and his interceptions in this win over Celta exemplify his all-around impact. We sometimes gloss over his brilliance defensively because of how subtle it is, but Vigo’s entire build-up play and gameplan was disrupted by Modric simply being on another level than them.
