3) 34th league title

Real Madrid was behind Barcelona in the league table in March before the lockdown. After beating Barcelona at Bernabeu, they lost away at Real Betis. This kept them behind the Catalans and the loss to Real Betis was frustrating. Everything came to a halt in the world of football. In May 2020 the squad resumed training. Later, it was official that the league would resume in June.

In June, when the league resumed, Real was left to play a total of 11 games. They had games left with some heavyweights like Valencia, Real Sociedad, Athletic Bilbao, and Villarreal. Los Blancos started very well in June as they won 10 games in a row. Barcelona dropped points against heavyweights like Atleti and Sevilla. This helped Real a lot and they took lead in the league.

Real won the league title on the penultimate matchday against Villareal. The game ended 2-1 in Real’s favor. This was the second League title for Zidane as a manager and third for Real in the decade. Players like Sergio Ramos, Fede Valverde, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Karim Benzema, Casemiro, Dani Carvajal, and Ferland Mendy were simply incredible throughout the season. This title was important for the club as it was not a great decade for them in La Liga.
