Real Madrid are on the verge of losing one of their best ever players to Juventus as Cristiano Ronaldo looks to turn agent.

Real Madrid got 2021 off to a flying start, thanks to an easy win over Celta Vigo at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium. For good calculations, even Takefusa Kubo, who was not considered good enough for Villarreal has closed in on a move to Getafe whereas David Alaba also seems to be within touching distance of signing a pre-contract agreement.

Los Blancos are unlikely to do more business in the ongoing transfer window as Zinedine Zidane is thought to be comfortable with his current roster until the end of this season. The Frenchman has used lesser players than usual to orchestrate an eight-match unbeaten run for Real Madrid, but with the Copa del Rey approaching, he will use the rest of the bunch.

The upcoming summer is set to be a productive one for Los Merengues as they are looking to sign some world-class players, while also filtering out unnecessary ones from the squad. Marcelo is likely to be among them with David Alaba’s arrival looking imminent and Ferland Mendy taking major strides by each passing day.

Marcelo does not have too many choices as far as his next destination is concerned, but it does look like Cristiano Ronaldo is going to be a major force as Juventus look to snap up on him, Calcio Mercato reports. The Portuguese formed a formidable partnership with the Brazilian on the left flank at the Santiago Bernabeu and will be out to do so with the Bianconeri as well.

Zidane himself is thought to be fine with the prospect of letting Marcelo go and in truth, it will be best for the player as well. By next season, he may well be third in the pecking order and not feature at all in all likelihood. Madrid’s wage bill will also free up in the event of his departure, which is more likely than not going to be a cordial and respectful affair.
