Competitions

La Liga – B-
Judging by how poorly Real Madrid have been at some points during this season, it’s a little surprising to see that they’re currently in second place in the league behind Atletico Madrid. Of course, games in hand will play a part for the majority of the teams there but Los Blancos are still in a strong position as they prepare for the second half of the campaign. They’ll need to continue winning games in hopes that Atletico Madrid slip up which isn’t happening often whatsoever.

UEFA Champions League – C
In a group where Real Madrid were expected to make it through comfortably, they left it to the final day. With points dropped against Borussia Monchengladbach and Shakhtar Donetsk, it was a shock to see them finish the group on top and get a “favorable” draw in the next round of the competition against Atalanta. However, they got the job done in the end and now all that matters is two very strong performances against an Atalanta side who are ready and capable of causing an upset to the UEFA Champions League record winners.
