UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE THREEPEAT
Zinedine Zidane guided Real Madrid to a Champions League title within his first six months as manager of the senior team and in a season where the Whites seemed to be in a nosedive, thanks to the poor work done by Rafa Benitez in the months prior. La Undecima paved the path to success that is likely to be unparalleled for decades to come.
The 2016/17 season saw the Whites win the Champions League once again, becoming the first team to defend the European Cup since the 1990s and the only one to record the plaudit in the UCL era. This one was sweet because of the sheer dominance as Madrid warded off Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Juventus on the way to triumph in Cardiff.
2017/18 was the ending people least expected, for both Cristiano Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane, whose Real Madrid careers ended after the third consecutive Champions League triumph in Kiev. This one was special because two of the most illustrious figures in the club’s history were given a memorable farewell and unmatchable history was created in Ukraine.
