21-MATCH UNBEATEN RUN IN THE 2019-20 CAMPAIGN

Back in October 2019, Real Madrid were shocked by Mallorca in La Liga as the now relegated side claimed a 1-0 win. The Islanders’ defeat was the last one which Los Merengues would face for nearly four months, before being beaten to the Copa del Rey semi-finals by Real Sociedad in February.

During those months, Real Madrid made up ground in La Liga and also convincingly crossed the Champions League group phase. They also saw off Unionistas de Salamanca and Real Zaragoza in the opening rounds of the Copa del Rey whilst also claiming the Spanish Super Cup with wins over Valencia and Atletico Madrid during January in Saudi Arabia.

The 21-match unbeaten run saw the Whites come out unscathed against the likes of Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla and Valencia domestically and Paris Saint-Germain on the continental front. This is one of the least talked runs in the media but it was extremely crucial in paving the path to a successful end to the 2019/20 campaign.
