THE TURNAROUND TO BRING 2020-21 BACK ON TRACK

Real Madrid started the 2020/21 season cheaply as defeats to Cadiz, Valencia and Alaves, as well as two losses at the hands of Shakhtar Donetsk put Zinedine Zidane’s job on the line once again. However, the Frenchman managed to come out of another state of calamity and has managed to put the team on a run of eight successive matches without defeat.

The Whites may still be a bit off the pace in La Liga but the Champions League continues to be a competition which they remain favourites in. Atletico Madrid seem to be their only competitors in the Spanish top-flight and a few bad results for Diego Simeone’s men will put the defending champions in a good position once again.

In January, Real Madrid also have to fight for the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey, which is why being in a good run of form at this point in time was very important. Plus, a managerial change midway through the season would have caused more trouble. Zidane turned around the tide once more and players also showed that they will fight till death for him.
