Real Madrid have some major issues to resolve in 2021.

Although Real Madrid are currently on an unbeaten streak of eight matches, Madridistas won’t soon forget the problems in the squad that were presented for the world to see.

Los Blancos struggled mightily in the Champions League group stages and could have tumbled out of the competition entirely, which is why Zinedine Zidane was shockingly on the hot seat and why Real faced a must-win match against Borussia Monchengladbach. This time of crisis brought out the best in the players, but we cannot ignore the issues that brought the club to that point in the first place.

Real Madrid still have what it takes to win a Champions League trophy again, but it may be a couple of years before we can truly say the team is the most dominant force in European football. We are in a bit of a “retooling” termed a “Revolution” under Zidane, and, as such, it’s important to look at what must be done from a team-building perspective over the course of the year.

It’s a difficult time for the club to navigate financially. Nevertheless, there are concerns that must be addressed quickly and thoroughly this year. Let’s take a look at five of them.
