Best Forward: Karim Benzema

Is there even any debate surrounding Karim Benzema being the best forward of Real Madrid since Cristiano Ronaldo left, let alone 2020? This man has been freakishly carrying the Real Madrid attack on his shoulders, without any support from fellow forwards. Heck, the fact the Sergio Ramos was the second-highest goalscorer behind Big Benz speaks a lot about Real Madrid’s impotent attack and how Benzema has somehow salvaged the pride.

He led the team in both the number of goals scored and assists set up during 2020, an obvious indication of the Frenchman’s striking impact on the team and its success. His fantastic performances were recognized as he was awarded the Alfredo di Stéfano award as La Liga’s best player during the 2019-20 season.

He was definitely the best player in the league in 2020 as he finished the previous season strongly, helping Real Madrid win the league, while starting the current season very well to ensure Real Madrid do not lose any ground on city rivals Atlético Madrid.

Benzema hasn’t shied away from responsibility and 2020 was a perfect example that he is an incredible player. No other forward was even close to Benzema’s number (Rodrygo was the closest but he hasn’t scored as much in 2020).
