REAL MADRID WILL DEFEND LA LIGA

Atletico Madrid are currently topping La Liga with three matches in hand and can go ten points clear of Real Madrid by winning each of those. Diego Simeone’s men are looking like firm favourites to win their first Spanish premiership since 2014, but the defending champions are most likely going to defend the crown, at least as per my intuition.

Real Madrid always deliver when the pressure is highest, but the same cannot be said to Atletico Madrid, who have crumbled several times even in the Champions League. The league leaders are yet to face some difficult fixtures and have a reputation of going on a slump when an inconsistent run of form starts.

Even though they have three matches in hand, it is already being assumed that they are ten points clear off the lot, but the points are still to be fought for. Barcelona meanwhile are on their best run of form this season, but they have not done enough to look like contenders. It only seems like a matter of time before their overreliance on Lionel Messi costs them dear.
