The 48-year-old was under pressure in the earlier part of the season, but a winning streak saw him escape the tightest of tightropes he has walked in his two tenures at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, he is gradually running out of time and his firing will be far from a surprise especially if such performances from the side become a regularity down the line.
