HIS FAVOURITISM COULD COST THE CLUB DEAR

Zidane’s favouritism has seen him prefer the likes of Marcelo, Mariano Diaz and Isco over talented players like Luka Jovic and Martin Odegaard. Vinicius Junior, who has barely played any minutes in the last few weeks seems like the latest victim of this agenda. It must also be mentioned that the Frenchman’s transfer decisions have not borne fruit either.

Jovic and Odegaard were the signings who were requested by none other than him, but their treatment is there to be seen. Dani Ceballos and James Rodriguez were not as bad as the manager thought them to be, but he sacrificed both of them too. Marcos Llorente, who is winning games for Atletico Madrid is another of the players who Zizou did not show faith in.

For a club that has some of the finest players, a manager stuck back in time cannot do much. Zidane is probably the last manager Real Madrid need, especially in the midst of a transitional phase and with several first-team players reaching closer to retirement ages.
