MARCOS LLORENTE

Marcos Llorente was sold prior to the 2019/20 season to Real Madrid’s crosstown rivals Atletico Madrid. The Spanish youngster was seen as a successor to Casemiro and used over the Brazilian as well by Santiago Solari. The former manager did integrate Llorente into the first team and deservedly so, but Zizou had other ideas.

The 25-year-old was never given a chance to prove himself either by the current manager and was sold to a side who he is helping incredibly now. Llorente has proven himself even on the right flank at the Wanda Metropolitano, turning out to be a crucial player in Atletico’s march to the La Liga title this time around.

Llorente’s athleticism and work ethic are the attributes which Madrid miss and a midfield consisting of him and Federico Valverde would have been one to reckon. Bringing Llorente back may also turn out to be a near-impossible task considering that he has settled in at a fierce rivals fanbase especially at the back of harsh treatment.
