ACHRAF HAKIMI

Achraf Hakimi had developed into a terrific attacking full-back, who can even play on the right flank. That position is one which is begging to be filled at Real Madrid, especially due to Zidane’s mistreatment of Gareth Bale. Rodrygo in truth is still too young to play regularly, whereas Marco Asensio is more suited to the left.

Zidane opted in favour of keeping Alvaro Odriozola, who he does not use anyway. Hakimi was first sent out on loan to Borussia Dortmund, where he did a superb job. The manager was unfortunately not impressed and decided to count against him. The Moroccan international was subsequently let go and joined Inter Milan.

Under Antonio Conte, Hakimi has flourished again but the Merengues don’t have a buyback clause. They do have a right to first refusal, but they must wait to exercise it before any other club makes an offer first. Another one of Zidane’s blunders featuring another fine talent which will definitely haunt the club sooner or later.
