Real Madrid prepare to take on Levante as they are definitely welcoming the recent one-game-a-week schedule. They will need to take this time to fight for the league title before the return of the UEFA Champions League next month and even though they currently find themselves seven points behind current leaders Atletico Madrid, anything can happen. But for an upset to be on the cards, they’ll need to win their remaining matches.

Goalkeeper

It’s sad that we may not see more of Andriy Lunin for the remainder of the season – at least not until the last couple of games. However, you can’t realistically ask Zinedine Zidane to bench an in-form Thibaut Courtois for the young Ukrainian goalkeeper and that won’t happen against Levante either. The Belgian is expected to start and continue his great form.

Defenders

Real Madrid are a little short at the back with Dani Carvajal and Sergio Ramos both recovering from injury while Nacho Fernandez has contracted the Coronavirus and will have to be in isolation until he recovers. Therefore, all signs point to Lucas Vazquez starting his 21st consecutive La Liga match, and he will be at right-back with Raphael Varane and Eder Militao teaming up in the center of defense.

They have done well against Alaves last weekend and will need to build on that in the coming matches. This definitely will not be the last time we see them both together. On the left, Ferland Mendy has established himself as the starting left-back and will be picked by Zidane once again.

Midfielders

It is extremely difficult to see Zidane make any real changes to his midfield trio who have really found form this year. With only one game per week, the argument to rotate his squad has become weaker and there is a very good chance that we will see him field the same midfielders for about a month until things get a little more complicated once again in the schedule.

Carlos Casemiro will be the defensive midfielder and even though he has had his ups and downs this season, his last performance was stellar and it’s very clear that the manager depends on him. In front of Casemiro will be Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, who were both sensational last weekend, and everyone will be hoping for a similar performance on Saturday evening.

Forwards

This is where we could possibly see Zidane rotate things a little even though all signs point to the same front three on the night. Marco Asensio could be chosen to start even though he has been underperforming lately. Don’t be too shocked if Vinicius Junior is given an unexpected start though. On the right, Eden Hazard will be starting again as they will both be helping out Karim Benzema who will want to build on his performance against Alaves which saw him find the back of the net twice.
