LB Ferland Mendy

Ferland Mendy has become an important starter for Real Madrid, as the team are just about unbeatable when he is in the lineup. There is a clear difference in quality between Mendy and Marcelo, as the latter cannot defend nearly as well as the former Lyon man.

Madridistas do have concerns about Mendy in the attacking third, because he has zero goal contributions this season and rarely gets the ball into dangerous areas in the penalty box. That is something for Mendy to work on, and his offensive contributions will be watching closely this weekend vs. Levante. We can expect him to have a big day defensively, though, as he will be part of the effort to stop Roger Marti up top.

LW Eden Hazard

Madridistas will watch closely this weekend to see how Eden Hazard follows up on an excellent performance against Deportivo Alaves. The Belgian superstar had two world-class moments as an assist-provider and goal-scorer, showing a deft first touch in both instances to help Los Blancos defeat the home side 4-1.

Hazard has put together a couple of brilliant performances this season, but Madridistas want to see Hazard shine game-in and game-out. Levante’s defense presents Hazard with an opportunity to pull the strings and have a performance similar to what we saw in the Fall of 2019 against Eibar. This is his time to shine.
