Much has been made of Real Madrid‘s youth movement and the future of the youth in the Spanish capital after both Luka Jovic and Martin Odegaard were loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt and Arsenal, respectively, this January. Despite the questions, Real certainly have an impressive collection of talent both on loan and within the first team itself, including players somewhere in between the top squad and Castilla.

But who are Real’s most promising players as a whole? Let’s take a look at the top three.

CM Fede Valverde

The first man on the list is none other than Fede Valverde. At 22, Valverde is already one of Real’s best players when he starts. There was a period of time this season during which he was arguably their top performer, though an injury and Luka Modric’s continued excellence has prevented the Uruguayan from being a regular starter.

But make no mistake, this man is already close to world-class. Valverde is arguably the most valuable midfielder in the world, and that’s not just because he’s young. He is so well-rounded. Valverde can score goals, create chances, glide past defenders, and, of course, provide robust defending. Valverde is a phenomenal athlete and will one day be a superstar at the heart of the pitch for Real Madrid after the old guard clears the way.
