Real Madrid isn’t having the best of the times right now. They are seven points behind league leaders Atletico Madrid, who have two games in hand. The club has been knocked out of the Supercopa de Espana and Copy Del Rey terribly, and the probability of Real Madrid ending up trophyless is increasing with each day.

Zinedine Zidane has been an obvious target for the fuming fans and the media, but it isn’t Zidane’s fault alone. The players, and even the administrators of Real Madrid, including the president Florentino Perez and the General Director Jose Angel Sanchez, are at fault.

Florentino Perez is one of the best presidents in the history of Real Madrid, if not the best. If not for him, Real Madrid couldn’t have become the superpower they are today, and they would’ve become another AC Milan. Everything he has done has been in the best interests of the club, but he did commit few mistakes on the way.

Whenever we talk about the mistakes committed by Perez, Cristiano Ronaldo’s sale is the first thing that comes to mind. But in my opinion, letting Cristiano Ronaldo leave was never a mistake. No president wants to let go of the best player in the world, but it’s never good to hold back a player who himself wanted to leave the biggest club in the world. Instead, the way he tried to cover for him after he left was questionable.
