The bad luck continues for Real Madrid and their 2019 Galactico signing Eden Hazard, as he has suffered another injury.

Previously, it seemed as if Hazard was merely suffering from muscular fatigue and would therefore be a doubt against Huesca.

Hazard actually returned to training on Wednesday after missing Tuesday’s session, but, shortly afterward, Real Madrid announced that Hazard has a muscular injury and not just fatigue. The Belgian is dealing with a left anterior rectus injury.

According to a report from COPE’s Arancha Rodriguez, Eden Hazard’s injury is the same as the one he suffered in November, albeit it is now to his left leg and not the right leg.

Eden Hazard could miss up to six weeks with this injury

Per Rodriguez, Hazard will likely miss four to six weeks with this latest injury.

So once again, Real Madrid will be without their 100 million euro man due to a significant injury. His impact on the team was admittedly minimal in between injuries, as he really only had one good game, which was the one-goal and one-assist performance against Deportivo Alaves.

Hazard is now expected to miss matches against Huesca, Getafe, Valencia, Real Valladolid, both legs against Atalanta, Real Sociedad, Atletico Madrid, and Elche. Madridistas may not even see the left winger back on the pitch until April, as Hazard has seemingly always been slow to return from injuries due to both setbacks and Real’s own caution.

As I said last year, the sad truth is that Madridistas cannot trust Hazard’s health. And so now, it is time another winger steps up on that left-hand side. Rodrygo Goes is still out with his own injury, so the responsibility falls on Vinicius Junior, who has not been effective since the opening weeks of the season. Vinicius, however, was a major asset down the stretch of the 2019-2020 season, so this is an opportunity to reestablish himself with Hazard down for the count again.
