Real Madrid: 5 key players to watch against Huesca
Real Madrid looked like they had righted the ship with a 4-1 win over Deportivo Alaves, but they regressed last weekend in a 2-1 loss to Levante. Now, Eden Hazard is back on the injury list, and Los Blancos must find a way to cope this weekend against the league’s last-placed team, Huesca.
Although Huesca are in 20th, Real Madrid have lost or drawn to the 17th, 18th, and 19th-placed teams at least once this season.
Here are five key players on Los Blancos to watch on La Liga’s Matchday 22.
RB Nacho Fernandez
We begin with Nacho, who will likely start at right back with neither Dani Carvajal nor Lucas Vazquez at 100 percent. It is far from an ideal situation for Los Blancos, but it seems like Zinedine Zidane trusts Nacho more than Alvaro Odriozola.
Nacho is not much of a threat offensively, but the big issue with Odriozola is that he makes too many mistakes defensively. He was culpable on Levante’s first goal last weekend.
If Nacho starts, left-sided midfielder Javi Galan will make sure to keep the veteran Madridistas’s hands full. Galan has two assists this season with 3.1 dribbles completed per game and 2.5 tackles per match, according to WhoScored.com. The 26-year-old is one of La Liga’s most underrated players.
