LW Vinicius Junior
Eden Hazard will miss a significant period of time with another muscular injury, and that means Vinicius Junior will most likely be asked to take on a greater role as the next man up. Rodrygo Goes is also injured, so the only alternative to Vini is Marco Asensio on the left. But with Vazquez not at 100 percent, Vinicius is needed as a starter.
It has not been an easy season for the young Brazilian winger, but he’s had a few highs, to be fair to him. Real Madrid need to show that they believe in the player, and the rumblings of their willingness to use him as a trade piece for Kylian Mbappe is not helping matters. At the end of the day, the noise should not matter to Vinicius. All that matters is what he can do on the pitch, and a good performance at Huesca would be huge for both himself and the club.
CM Luka Modric
Whenever Real Madrid are in a crisis, Luka Modric is the man who lifts them out of the darkness. He has been magnificent this season in so many big matches, including the must-win Champions League victory over Borussia Monchengladbach and even the recent 4-1 win over Alaves at the Mendizorroza.
Modric leads Los Blancos with 1.8 dribbles completed per game and ranks third in key passes per game with 1.4. The Croatian legend should have a commanding performance against Huesca, and he’ll probably need to. Huesca will give Real everything they have, and it may take more magic from the 35-year-old to create a goal for Los Merengues against another lower-table side.
