Real Madrid prepare to play a midweek match for the first time in a while as they finally take on Getafe in the match that was postponed from Week One of the season. After Feb. 9, Los Merengues will no longer have their game in-hand.

Goalkeeper

After yet another incredible performance against Huesca, Thibaut Courtois will once again be the goalkeeper on the night. Real Madrid have no choice but to win their remaining games and Courtois will definitely be a key player in this.

Defenders

Things could change here in comparison to what we witnessed against Huesca. Alvaro Odriozola was taken off and looked injured and with the return of Eder Militao from suspension, Zidane has different options at the back now. Nacho Fernandez could be deployed as the right-back on the night with Raphael Varane and Eder Militao in the center.

The Frenchman scored twice against Huesca and will want to keep up the form while Militao will want to make amends after his last outing saw him sent off in less than eight minutes. On the left, Ferland Mendy will be called up to continue showing why he’s the starting left-back.

Midfielders

Carlos Casemiro arguably had his best performance of the season against Huesca and we’ll be expecting to see more of that on Tuesday night. In front of him, Luka Modric will be there to probably continue showing that age is simply just a number but the big question will be who is chosen alongside him? Toni Kroos is suspended after receiving a yellow card in the last match and therefore the manager will need to do some thinking.

If Isco is back and ready, then he will most probably be given the chance but at the moment most signs point to Antonio Blanco who could be given a golden opportunity on the night. However, anything is possible and maybe even Marcelo could be chosen there as well.

Forwards

Up front, don’t expect any major changes. Zidane is showing that with time, Marco Asensio is slowly improving and we saw some of that against Huesca, particularly during the second half. On the left, Vinicius Junior will continue showing off his speed and skill while Karim Benzema will be leading the attack once again and hoping to finally find the back of the net.
