Toni Kroos has been one of the best midfielders in all of European football this season, but Real Madrid will have to go without their star man on La Liga’s Matchday 22/23 this Tuesday night at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano against Getafe.

Why is Kroos out? Unlike the rest of his teammates, who are suffering from a variety of injuries, Kroos will miss this match due to suspension. The German international picked up his fifth yellow card of the season on Saturday in a 2-1 win over Huesca, with the booking being the lone blemish in what was another world-class performance from the midfield maestro.

Kroos joins Sergio Ramos and Eden Hazard as superstars who will miss Tuesday’s match, though Ramos and Hazard are out with significant injuries. Ramos and Hazard could both miss about six weeks of action for Los Blancos.

Before Tuesday’s match against Getafe, who are known for their tenacious defending and fiery pressing under manager Jose Bordalas, let’s take a look at three players who must step up with Toni Kroos suspended. Since Fede Valverde is also injured and Isco may be out himself, the options for Real Madrid are admittedly thin in the middle of the park.
