Real Madrid were without several key players on Tuesday night against Getafe, yet they did not have much trouble disposing of Jose Bordalas’ men at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano. Los Blancos used a three-man defense, let Marcelo creatively roam in the middle of the park, and reaped the rewards with two second-half goals for a second straight win.

Let’s take a look back at the top five individual performers from the victory over Getafe as Los Blancos prepare for Sunday’s match against Valencia.

The Castilla call-up drew a surprise start against Getafe, and he rewarded Zinedine Zidane with a fantastic performance on the right-hand side of the pitch. Marvin combined wonderfully with the more experienced Marco Asensio, showing more technical quality than expected with his one-touch passes and close control.

Marvin went up against Marc Cucurella, who is one of the best wide midfielders/wing backs in Europe, and he did not look out of place at all. The 20-year-old had two tackles, two interceptions, two clearances, two dribbles completed, and two fouls drawn in 54 minutes, per WhoScored.com, before leaving the pitch due to an injury.

He showed enough in about one half of play that Madridistas should be eager for Marvin’s next appearance in the lineup. After his Matchday 1 debut at the Anoeta Stadium against Real Sociedad, Marvin lit up the pitch for Real Madrid vs. Getafe.
