LW Eden Hazard

We begin with the left side of Real Madrid’s attack, and this choice lets you know that we are indeed living in, as the title proclaims, an “ideal” world.

The reality is that it would be irresponsible for Madridistas to expect Eden Hazard to be the same player he was at Chelsea at this point. We should be hopeful, 100 percent. We must – let me repeat this again – we must support Hazard through and through. But it would be unfair to expect, in light of a multitude of recurring injuries, Hazard to be the top-three player in the world that he was while with the Blues.

In an ideal, world, though? He returns to health and form, luck is finally on his side, and after Real Madrid go with a baby-steps approach to managing his injuries, Hazard locks down the left side of the attack again.

We have seen his class on multiple occasions for Real Madrid, despite all the injury issues. Hazard is a wizard with the ball at his feet, possession the first touch of an angel and the clinical finishing of a striker. If only, if only we could see him healthy for 30 matches in a season alongside Karim Benzema, whom he shares an extraordinary connection with.
