Real Madrid: The best player of the season from each top 10 La Liga side so far

There have been 24 La Liga Matchdays played thus far, and Real Madrid won’t be in action in the league until next Monday when they face Real Sociedad at home. So now is a good time to reflect on the best players of the league season, picking the top player from each club in the top half of the table.

10. Athletic Club FW Iñaki Williams

Athletic Club move into the top half of the table after picking up a huge point against Villarreal, as they are now ahead of Iago Aspas and Celta Vigo on goal differential.

The Basque club have a handful of stalwart defenders and a few notable forwards, but there’s nobody with more class and production than Iñaki Williams. Madridistas are certainly familiar with what Williams can do in front of goal, and he has scored five times with four assists for Athletic Bilbao thus far in the 2020-2021 season.

9. Granada CM Yangel Herrera

Granada are once again lurking in the Europa League picture after qualifying last season in what was one of the stories of the 2019-2020 La Liga campaign. Manchester City loanee Yangel Herrera has been a key to the club’s recent success, as he does a little bit of everything for his team.

The 23-year-old has five goals in all competitions this season, including a goal and an assist in his last four La Liga matches. Not only does Herrera aid the attack, but he is a competent defensive presence for Granada.
