Real Madrid vs. Real Sociedad Predicted Lineup: Another Big Win Needed

Real Madrid prepare to take on Real Sociedad on Monday night as they aim to continue their good run of form even though the squad have been plagued by injuries in recent weeks. There is some talk about a possible return for certain players but overall, it looks like we will see the same lineup we have gotten used to seeing over the past couple of weeks as Zidane will not want to take any unnecessary risks especially with a game against Atletico Madrid coming up after this.

Goalkeeper

As always, Thibaut Courtois will be the starting goalkeeper on the night as he aims to continue his magnificent form and will hope for yet another consecutive clean sheet. The Belgian goalkeeper has been extremely trustworthy so far during this season and has not only earned the trust of the Real Madrid players and staff but of all Madridistas worldwide.

Defenders

There aren’t any major changes expected here from Zidane as Lucas Vazquez will be our right-back once again with Raphael Varane and Nacho Fernandez aiming to continue their solid partnership at center-back in the absence of Sergio Ramos and Eder Militao. On the left, Ferland Mendy will be on a high after his game-winning goal against Atalanta during midweek and he will definitely want to build on that performance which saw him chosen as man-of-the-match.

Midfielders

Possibly the first name on the team sheet is always Carlos Casemiro and he will be there to start once again as part of the history-making trio. Luka Modric will be in front of him as the Croatian partners alongside Toni Kroos. With the return of Federico Valverde edging closer, we’ll finally get to see either one of these players rested whenever they need to but as of now, they continue to go strong and consistently impress us all with their performances.

Forwards

Here is where things may be changed slightly as Zidane surprised many of us against Atalanta when he played Isco as a false-nine. However, expect him to go back to basics against Real Sociedad but it’ll be interesting to see what he does on the right wing. So far, his go-to has been Marco Asensio which is the safe option to choose when predicting the lineup but the Spaniard really hasn’t been performing well at all and sooner or later, the time may come for Zidane to change things around.

Don’t be too surprised to see Isco given a chance there or even the young Sergio Arribas who has been getting more time with each passing game. On the left, Vinicius Junior could start even though it was clear that the manager wasn’t too happy with his performance last week. Mariano Diaz could start again after being benched in the game against Atalanta and Karim Benzema expected to return for the Derby.
