Real Madrid loanee Gareth Bale is playing his best football in years. Who would have seen that coming earlier this season when Bale was barely getting Premier League minutes for Tottenham Hotspur and Jose Mourinho was openly criticizing Bale in the media.

Now, Bale seems determined to prove his doubters wrong, including many of us, and he is in fine scoring form.

After scoring two goals with an assist in both legs against Wolfsberger in the Europa League, Bale saved his best performance for this weekend’s 4-0 win over Burnley. The Galactico scored twice and added an assist for Spurs, showing his vintage finishing in the massive win.

Madridistas will hope that Bale’s performances will lead another club, perhaps even Spurs, to sign him permanently and remove the player’s high wages from their books. But there are some fans wondering if a reunion is possible and if it could work out for Real Madrid with Zinedine Zidane as the manager. After all, Bale is now more productive than Marco Asensio…

Some fans are asking, could Real Madrid keep Gareth Bale for next season?

Real Madrid fans had a field day reacting to Bale’s big day against Burnley, especially in the context of his recent performances in other competitions. Perhaps his up-turn in form is no fluke and he is experiencing a return to prominence.

It truly does seem like Real could get something in return for Bale. If he keeps scoring, maybe Los Blancos would not have to settle for a free transfer to clear the wage bill.

I…I hope not. Asensio did have a great summer, so maybe he just needs confidence and a good run like Bale is getting right now. After all, Bale did have a rough patch that was even worse than Asensio’s current struggles.

Since there are probably still some people who don’t think Gareth Bale is a Real Madrid legend, this is a 100 percent valid take. The most underrated is probably a non-forward, since they rarely get their due, but Bale might be up there.

Not yet, since it’s been a few games against teams that aren’t exactly the best of the best. But he had some awesome moments, so it’s not far-fetched to think that he’s getting close to being “back”, which is very exciting for anyone who loves football and loves watching great footballers play to the best of their abilities.

“Like a new signing” is the worst meme ever. And yes, newspapers have memes just like the rest of us do. The difference is that our memes are actually good.

It’s hard not to think that Bale at his best would be ahead of both of those guys on the right-hand side. But the deciding factor will be the wages. If Real Madrid have the chance to offload Bale, do they really want to keep paying him during the pandemic or use that money on a different forward like Kylian Mbappe? That’s going to be the main question for Florentino Perez.
