CM Toni Kroos
I cannot find the superlatives to describe Toni Kroos. The world-class No. 8 was at his brilliant best in the month of February, as exemplified by his 139 pass attempts and a completion percentage of 94 percent in the Champions League at Atalanta. Kroos was creating great chances all month long, including the winning assist last weekend at Valladolid. He had 18 key passes in four matches in February, which is an average of 4.4 key passes per game!

DM Casemiro
The man in the middle and tasked with protecting the back four, Casemiro has been back in form over the past couple of months. He chipped in offensively, coming up with the winning goal from a set piece at Real Valladolid. But, of course, the Brazilian midfielder earns his plaudits off his defensive work. He reads the game brilliantly and had three matches last month with at least three interceptions. Casemiro does so much covering for Real Madrid.

CM Luka Modric
In truth, Luka Modric’s had better months in the 2020-2021 season, but that’s actually high praise. Because he was quite good in February, all told. Modric was an all-around difference-maker for Los Merengues, providing 10 key passes and 10 dribbles completed offensively. Defensively, Modric had 15 total interventions when combining tackles and interceptions. He was unlucky not to have more than one assist last month, with the assist actually coming on Mendy’s wonder-strike at Atalanta.
