After 25 La Liga Matchdays, Real Madrid sit third in the league table. FC Barcelona have experienced a resurgence and are now tied on points with the league’s best goal differential at +33. But the league leaders remain Atletico Madrid, who are five points clear of the Clasico rivals and have an additional game in hand.

Los Blancos could really cut into Atleti’s advantage by defeating Diego Simeone’s slumping side at the Wanda Metropolitano this weekend. It won’t be an easy task, but Real will be encouraged by their earlier 2-0 result at home against Atleti.

Before the massive weekend fixture, let’s reset things a little bit and predict the top seven in La Liga as we get ready for more March action in the league.

7. Levante

This is my surprise pick. Levante are currently in ninth, but they have a better goal differential than two clubs ahead of them in Granada and Real Betis. The Frogs’ biggest issue is their defense, but they have one of La Liga’s very best attacks.

They’ve also proven they can beat literally anyone in this league. Levante took down Real Madrid in late January, and then they went undefeated against Atleti in back-to-back matches. First, they drew the league leaders, and then they beat them.

Jose Luis Morales and Roger Marti form an enviable attacking duo for Levante, and they are a big reason why I think this club can flirt with a Europa League spot.
