6. Villarreal

Real Betis have two of the best playmakers in La Liga in Nabil Fekir and Sergio Canales, who have five assists each, but it’s hard to trust a team with their defensive questions. It’s also not necessarily reassuring that Canales, brilliant as he is, leads Los Verdiblancos with seven goals.

Villarreal have their own issues and honestly aren’t much better than Levante, but they have two truly elite players in this league in free-scoring striker Gerard Moreno and the criminally underrated, world-class Dani Parejo.

The Yellow Submarine have a deep squad, and they have what it takes to nail down the final Europa League spot in La Liga.

5. Real Sociedad

I was flipping a coin between Sevilla and Real Sociedad, but, ultimately, I think the current standings will hold for both of these teams. La Real are a great side and can stand with anyone in this league, as we have seen with their draws against Real Madrid. This club has one of the league’s top attacks, as that front three is capable of scoring loads of goals.

But I’m just not sure they are better than Sevilla, who have the edge in terms of defensive quality and experience. The Papu Gomez January transfer is another reason to believe Sevilla have the extra juice necessary to make a late push that Real Sociedad might not be able to match.
