Real Madrid loaned their second and third best strikers in the 2020-2021 season. First, and apparently against Zinedine Zidane’s wishes, the club sent Borja Mayoral to AS Roma on a loan deal with an option to buy this summer. He has since been a breakout star for them alongside Edin Dzeko. Then, Los Blancos sent top backup Luka Jovic back to Eintracht Frankfurt on a winter loan deal, where he remains a backup albeit to Andre Silva.

Jovic is in a tough situation. Los Blancos spent 60 million euros on the Serbian international in 2019, and it was Zidane who reportedly wanted him. You’d never guess that, though, based on how infrequently Jovic played, as he was stuck behind Karim Benzema with Zidane seldomly using two strikers. And now with Real interested in Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund, Jovic’s future in Madrid is very much in doubt.

We could see the No. 9 make a move away from Real Madrid on a permanent transfer in the summer 2021 market if the club signs Haaland or even PSG’s Kylian Mbappe. Let’s take a look at three possible destinations for the 23-year-old striker, who has scored three goals in 324 Bundesliga minutes for the Champions League-hopeful Eagles so far this season.
