Eden Hazard

Talking further on the attack, it is no shock that Eden Hazard makes this list. Eden Hazard’s move to Madrid was a big optimistic turn for the whole club. Alas, it hasn’t worked out so well. Hazard has only had 12 appearances this season and started in 9 of those. He has scored thrice and assisted once, stats that are very unlikely the Chelsea goal-machine that we know.

So what hasn’t worked out for him? Sure, Spanish football is way different. It is not as physical as English football is and relies much more on slow and steady buildup play to penetrate defenses. Firstly, he hasn’t shined in that department. And secondly, he has been more injured than fit to play.

Eden Hazard is capable of much more than what he has done for Madrid so far. It is just to say that he needs to study the tactics better, indulge himself in conversations with Zidane who knows this competition better than anyone else to figure out what can be improved and how.

Not to forget, he also needs to battle his way into fitness and withdraw himself from situations that can land him up with injuries further. He needs more minutes on the field if he at all wants to redeem himself as a permanent starter. We all know that Hazard is capable of much better. But, all we can is hope, while he battles his struggle with Spanish Football.
