Real Madrid Transfers: 3 possible trades for Kylian Mbappe

The final trade option for Kylian Mbappe involves another long-time PSG transfer target in Raphael Varane. 

Although Varane is one of the best center backs in the world and extremely valuable to Real Madrid, it’s possible he could ask for a move with one year left on his contract. If so, Real would probably prefer to use him in a trade for Mbappen than to sell him for less than market value to a Premier League club like Manchester United.

However, Varane seems to be interested in re-signing, so the situation is fluid. Until an extension is official, though, Varane is a possible option in a trade, and he is someone PSG could covet highly due to his status as the top French center back and a world-class defender in his prime. Every team would love to have Varane, in the same way they would love to have a world-class goal-scorer at the other end, such as the young superstar we are currently discussing.

Again, all three of these trades are probably not going to happen, but because of Varane’s contract situation and the expected interest from PSG, the 27-year-old center back is squarely on the list of star players who could be involved if Real Madrid really want Mbappe. Because if he truly is central to Perez’s plans with this new project, it is not out of the question for the Madrid president to make a blockbuster trade if that’s what it takes to sign him.
