Defense

It’s tough to go for which team will have their player at right-back on the night. Dani Carvajal has been in sensational form but that’s when he is able to play. The Spaniard has struggled with injuries and even more so this season. On the other hand, Trent Alexander-Arnold really burst into the scene with Liverpool over the past few years and even though his form has taken a significant dip this season, he has still proven himself to be one of the best right-backs in Europe. In the center, it’s fair to assume that one player from each team will be picked.

Sergio Ramos and his captain mentality have only strengthened his abilities on the pitch while he has consistently proven himself on the biggest of stages time and time again. If you have the Spaniard standing alongside the Dutch beast in Virgil van Dijk, it’s safe to say this is a pairing every other team would be envious of. Granted, VVD has been out of the scene for the majority of this season as he continues to work on coming back from a horrible injury, but it’s not fair to rule out an incredible defender because of one bad injury.

On the left side, Marcelo would have taken this quite easily in his day but we are looking at a modern day where the Brazilian is no longer the starting left-back as he has been replaced by Ferland Mendy. The Frenchman has been improving on a very consistent basis but as of now, that place is quite easily taken by Andrew Robertson who has risen to the top with the English team and continues to showcase his ability in the Premier League.

Final Verdict: Dani Carvajal, Sergio Ramos, Virgil van Dijk, Andrew Robertson
