It isn’t any secret that Real Madrid‘s attacking line has been quite disappointing, ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left the club in 2018. Karim Benzema has stepped up brilliantly in the absence of the Portuguese, but the club hasn’t yet found the replacement for the greatest goalscorer in the history of Real Madrid. Though Real Madrid won a league title in this gap, it was mostly due to the defensive solidity.

This season, there are a lot of rumours of Real Madrid being liked with Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, and Florentino Perez is highly determined to bring any one of them. Erling Braut Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are two of the best players in the world right now, and with age on their side, every top club of Europe is trying to get their signature and kickstart a great long-term project built around them.

Comparatively, Erling Haaland is feasible for many top clubs, as Borussia Dortmund might look to sell him for a price of around 100 million euros. But Kylian Mbappe’s case doesn’t look clear, as he might renew with Paris Saint-Germain. His contract ends in 2022, and PSG is looking to avoid a scenario where he will leave for free and would try to cash in on him this summer. But it wouldn’t be surprising if PSG demands a world-record fee for the French international.

Many clubs are behind Erling Haaland’s signature, including Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City. There is a high chance of Real Madrid being not able to sign any of them, considering the competition and the losses faced by the club in this pandemic.

So there’s a need for Real Madrid to have a plan-B, in case Project-Mbappe or Project-Haaland doesn’t happen. Let’s have a look at the possible alternatives for Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.
