Real Madrid have been linked with Cristiano Ronaldo in the transfer rumor mill, and the Portuguese international is reportedly interested in a reunion.
Ronaldo is still one of the best players in the world at Juventus, as he has scored 23 goals in 24 Serie A appearances this season. His finishing, eye for goal, and movement off the ball are all at an elite level, and you’d wonder if he could have even more goals scored if the Bianconeri had better chance-creators. Only Juan Cuadrado can consistently provide him with service.
So in that respect, a move to Real Madrid would benefit Ronaldo, who would get to play with the likes of Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema again. Kroos has eight assists this season, and Benz had three seasons with double-digit assists during his time working with Ronaldo and Gareth Bale together in a three-peat Champions League front three.
But there are barriers to a deal happening. Ronaldo may want the move, and the fanbase, as a whole, may be interested in the nostalgic return of the legendary No. 7. It may even be easier to sign him compared to Kylian Mbappe, for example.
That said, a transfer may not happen, no matter the hype. Here are three things that could prevent Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo from working together again.
