Real Madrid had a strong month of March compared to other months in the beginning of the season, as they didn’t lose a single game this month. The team began March in a not-so-good fashion, as they drew two tough but important games against Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid. But then, the club did well to bounce back and finished the month on a good note.
One of the main objectives of March was to go ahead in the Champions League knockout stages. After convincingly defeating Atalanta in the second leg at the Estadio Alfredo di Stefano, the club progressed to the UEFA Champions League’s quarterfinals, and they’ve been drawn against Liverpool in the last eight.
The team dropped a valuable advantage over FC Barcelona in the title race, after those two draws. But those two wins against Elche and Celta Vigo have done some good for the team’s confidence in the title race, and the club will look to bounce back in the coming weeks.
Real Madrid’s next game is on April 3rd, and they don’t have any more games in March due to the international break. So let us have a look at the top performers in March.
