1. Karim Benzema
Karim Benzema is undoubtedly the best player in March. His performances and his output speak for themselves. He has six goals and one assist in four outings in March. Is anything else required to prove why he is ranked first in this list?
When Benzema was out on the sidelines due to injury, the team struggled a lot offensively. The impact of Benzema’s absence was clearly visible in the Sociedad game. The team desperately need him to return, and he managed to recover soon and make it to the Madrid derby. Benzema didn’t have a great game individually and missed a few clear chances. But he managed to win a point for his team with a late equalizer.
From there began his time, as there was no stopping him after that. he went on to win the next game against Elche on his own, as he scored a brace which included a magnificent left-footed volley which won the game for Real Madrid in added time. He opened the scoring against Atalanta as well and gave a masterclass against Celta Vigo where he was involved in every goal scored by Real Madrid.
He has always shown the tendency to step up when needed and his performances in March are proof of that. His return from injury set the tempo for Madrid, and there are simply no words to describe his importance to the team.
Karim Benzema has always had his critics, despite having a fantastic career. Despite his performances, his future is never secure and there are always rumours of a new striker being linked to Real Madrid. Though the club trusts him, he hasn’t been given the respect he deserves from others. He deserves a lot more respect, for everything he has done for the club and is doing for this club.
