Real Madrid will have a wild summer transfer window on the horizon, and we’re already seeing a lot of rumors coming down the pipeline regarding possible ways Los Blancos can sign a pair of Galacticos in Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe.

Acquiring the latter of the two will be a gargantuan task for Florentino Perez. Even the legendary Real Madrid president will have his work cut out for him when it comes to convincing PSG to take a deal, as Mbappe is the world’s most expensive player. And Real do not have much money to spend.

That’s why the idea of a swap deal with PSG has come to the fore. Recently, it was reported by Tomas Gonzalez-Martin of ABC Deportes that the Parisians would like 165 million euros plus Vinicius Junior in exchange for Mbappe. A hefty price, to be sure, and one that either overvalues Mbappe or undervalues Vinicius. Probably both.

Many Madridistas do not want to see Vinicius go, even though he and Mbappe play the same position on the left wing. They see Vini’s sky-high potential and would hate to see him go to PSG at less than his market value, only to become a superstar in his own right elsewhere.

Vinicius Junior unsurprisingly wants to stay with Real Madrid

For the fans who are skeptical and do not want to see Vinicius sold or traded away, there is some good news. Jose Luis Sanchez reported on El Chiringuito that Vinicius Junior wants to stay at Real Madrid. Furthermore, he emphasizes that nobody from PSG has spoken with him or his representation.

Now, that does not rule out PSG having genuine interest in Vinicius. It doesn’t rule out any internal conversations or spitballing in negotiations with Real over a swap involving the Brazilian. But it does imply that the Vinicius rumors may be theories not grounded in any substance. At least, not as of yet.

Firstly, it’s great to hear that Vini wants to stay with Real Madrid. As a person, he is everything Real want in a young player. He can succeed in Madrid.

However, if Real want Mbappe badly enough and PSG won’t budge on their price, a Vinicius swap may be one of the only ways of pulling off a deal. So the Vini rumors will remain pervasive and potentially even heat up the closer we get to June. Personally, I do not think he will be traded due to the risk, but we cannot rule anything out.
